DEIF GENSET CONTROLS TRAINING

The DEIF Course is conducted over three days at DEIF's Mediterranea Regional Office in France.

The course seeks to give the learner a comprehensive understanding of generator control systems used in electric power generation combining theoretical insight with practical application. Listed below Is an overview of the topics covered in this course at various levels of operation.

LEVEL Course Overview: DEIF EPG Theory
LEVEL 1
OPERATORS
Purpose This half-day training course is primarily aimed at engine and gen-set controller operators who require basic knowledge in order to carry out the daily routine operations.
Contents You will learn the basic menu functions of your engine and gen-set controller and become acquainted with the overall menu structure.
When you have been taken through the basic controller description you will do a practical task involving start/stop of both single and multiple generators.

LEVEL 2
SERVICE TECHNICIANS
Purpose This one-day training course is primarily aimed at service technicians who require knowledge to access the setup menu structure of the controller.
Contents You will learn how to use the different available configuration inputs, modes of operation and how to alter protection settings.
This course will involve practical tasks related to the basics from the level 1 course. This will then be followed by accessing the service and setup menu allowing fault finding and activation of protection setting all through the front display screen.

LEVEL 3 MASTER 
Purpose This two-day training course is primarily aimed at engineers who require indepth knowledge of the controller for commissioning or service of generator controllers.
Contents You will learn how to connect the utility software and configure function I/O’s, AOP, etc.
The course will involve practical tasks covering the level 1 course for service technicians. This will then be followed by commissioning setup of typical installations.

LEVEL 4 DESIGNER
PURPOSE This three-day training course is primarily aimed at designers who require knowledge of DEIF controllers range.
Contents You will be introduced to the DEIF product range to provide you with an overview.
This will then be followed by a practical on how to use and operate DEIF SCADA package M-Vision and specific engine and communication protocols.
